There are certain occasions in life that we celebrate as milestones - driver's license, graduation, marriage, kids, retirement, etc. At First Assembly, we celebrate Water Baptism and Parent Child Dedication in a big way. Check it out below!
Water Baptism
Baptism is simply defined as the outward act of an inward change. First Assembly follows the model laid out by Jesus, which is recorded in the New Testament Gospels, as well as by the Church in Acts. Typically, water baptism will take place during the Sunday morning service, and is one of the most exciting celebrations we have. You are encouraged to invite family and friends to hear your testimony of Christ's work in your life.
Why?
To follow the example set by Christ. “At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.” (Mark 1:9)
Because Christ commanded it. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit... (Matthew 28:19–20)
It demonstrates I am a Believer. “We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.” (1 John 2:3)
